What are the substitutes for Nuts?

Nuts has a number of health benefits such as antioxidants, heart-healthy fats, fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals.

Depending on your reason for avoiding nuts, there can be different substitutes:

  • For plant-based protein and fiber substitutes, enjoy beans and lentils in place of nuts.

  • For heart-healthy fats, use olive oil, canola oil, soybeans, avocado, olives, flaxseeds.

  • To enjoy as a snack in place of nuts, try chia seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin and squash seeds, hemp seeds and hemp hearts, and flax seeds.
