How to use the Walking Tracker

Note: These features are available to customers who have the Walking Plan included in their subscription.

There are two ways to track your walking progress: syncing automatically via your phone's health app or manually logging your activity.

1. Syncing Steps Automatically

For Android Users (Health Connect)

The app reads step data through Health Connect. It does not connect directly to individual watches (like Samsung Galaxy Watch) or apps like Google Fit.

How to set it up:

  1. Open the Reverse Health app.

  2. If prompted, download Health Connect from the Google Play Store.

  3. Tap "Open Health Connect" and grant all permissions for Reverse Health to read data.

  4. Important: Ensure your tracking app (Fitbit, Samsung Health, or Google Fit) is also set to share data with Health Connect.

For iOS Users (Apple Health)

The app syncs directly with Apple Health.

How to set it up:

  1. Open the Reverse Health app and go to the My Day tab.

  2. Locate the step counter and tap Connect.

  3. Tap Open Apple Health and toggle the permissions to Allow.

2. Manually Logging a Walk

If you don't use a wearable device or forgot to sync your steps, you can log a walk manually.

  1. Go to the My Day tab.

  2. Scroll down and tap Let’s move.

  3. Tap I already exercised today.

  4. Select Walking and tap Continue.

3. Guided Walking Sessions

If your plan includes the specific walking program, you can access guided sessions that help you reach your goals.

How to access:

  1. Navigate to the Fitness tab.

  2. Select Walking. You will see two options:

    • Indoor Workouts: A 28-day guided indoor walking program.

    • Guided Walking: Themed walks for outdoors or treadmills.

How to use:

  1. Select a workout and tap Start Workout.

  2. Choose Outdoor or Treadmill.

  3. Press Play to begin the audio guidance.

  4. To Finish: If you complete the walk, tap Continue then Done. If you need to stop early, tap the Stop (⏹) button and select End workout.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

  • Steps not updating? Ensure your phone's battery saver mode is OFF, as this often blocks background syncing.

  • Permission issues? If syncing stops, go to your phone's system settings > Apps > Reverse Health > Permissions, and ensure "Physical Activity" or "Health" is enabled.
